Animate the meditation room in Unreal Engine 5.8

Open unreal/SamfordMeditation/SamfordMeditation.uproject; the saved room level is /Game/Meditation/MeditationRoom. The existing camera is called “Meditation room - morning view”. A still render is included; no animated Unreal sequence or playable walkthrough has been created yet.

A simple ten-second camera move

  1. In the Content Browser, right-click → Cinematics → Level Sequence. Name it MeditationRoomTour and double-click to open Sequencer.
  2. Set the sequence to 24 fps and its playback range to frames 0–240 (ten seconds). Drag the existing “Meditation room - morning view” camera from the Outliner into Sequencer. Add a Camera Cut track and bind it to that camera for the full sequence. Alternatively, Sequencer’s Create Camera button creates a Cine Camera and Camera Cut together.
  3. At frame 0, set the camera to your opening view. Expand its Transform track and click the keyframe diamond to record location and rotation.
  4. Go to frame 120 (five seconds), gently move the camera closer to the cushion, and add another Transform key. At frame 239, turn slightly toward the candles and add a final key. Start with small moves so the camera stays inside the room. Use cubic/auto interpolation for a gentle start and stop.
  5. Enable the camera-view icon on Camera Cuts, return to frame 0 and press Play in Sequencer. This previews the camera animation. The main editor Play button runs the level; it does not automatically start a new sequence unless a Level Sequence Actor is set to Auto Play.

Save a video

Enable the bundled Movie Render Queue plugin in Edit → Plugins and restart Unreal if requested. In Sequencer, open the Render menu and choose Movie Render Queue. Add the sequence, set output to 2560 × 1440 at 24 fps, and choose PNG or EXR image sequence. Render Local. Those frames can be assembled into a video using a video editor or FFmpeg. An MP4 is not produced automatically unless an encoder has been configured.

Suggested first film: a wide view of the whole room, a slow move toward the meditation cushion, and a final close view of the candles and timber bench. Keep the original still camera or duplicate it before experimenting.
